When men and women return to society after incarceration, they face overwhelming barriers:
Limited access to housing.
Stigma that keeps them from being hired.
Financial instability that traps them in cycles of debt.
Strained family ties and lack of community support.
Without intervention, these barriers feed California’s high recidivism rate—costing taxpayers billions every year, and costing individuals their chance at a new life.
The average annual cost to house one inmate in a California state prison was budgeted at approximately $127,800 in 2025-26. Yet even after paying that price, too many return to incarceration not because of new crimes but because of technical violations, unemployment, or lack of support. That means wasted potential, broken families, and a community carrying unnecessary burdens.
Revival Reentry exists to change this story. By providing housing, employment through our thrift store, financial literacy training, and reintegration support, we are building a bridge to lasting freedom.
